great small tool for diving

Yes, very small, lightweighted, perfect for weekend diving, every week many new features. We are talking about PDA´s, Pocket Digital Assistant´s.
There are two types of PDA devices on the market: PDA´s based on microsoft pocket PC operating system and, or the palm devices based on 3com´s palm OS operating system.
The PDA´s are much easier to handle than your notebooks. The operating is very fast and easy. There are some PDA´s on the market who works over two weeks with one battery. For a weekend trip you don`t need to take your expensive notebook with you. Every predive check, gas mix or deco calculating you can do with your palm device. After the dive you can easily connect your dive computer to the palm cradle to upload and store the dive profile into the Palm.
Software for your palm you can find everywhere on the net. Because I use and own a palm device, here is a list from some programms i prefer. Some are freeware or shareware, for some you must pay some bugs.
These are links that i personally find useful.
I´m sure the Palm can easily replace your notebook on your next dive trip

Great tool for draeger dolphin divers from phi Lee. Needs math.lib and pocketC to run.
Calculated FiO2 for different work effort (VO2), MOD for Premix and FiO2.

Not really a rebreather tool, but very usefull.

Varying Permeability Model and should not be used for actual diving:-)

Paladin, divelog for uwatec divers. Works together with your Aladin Air Z O2 and OXY2. You can see the same view´s like on your desktop. With the interfacecable you can view your profile direct after the dive.
Paladin with Palm and interfacecable can replace the Uwatec “memo mouse”. You don`t need longer the mouse to safe the profiles from the dive computer.
Note: Current version is paladin-4.35( 6/2005).

SCR Planer, created by Carl E. Wern for the rebreather community. For more information look at : www.wern.com . The SCR Planer is a very nice tool for semi closed rebreather, there are three options: scr planer, scr gas milage and scr gas blender.
And the best, it´s freeware!
